Start with the three questions everybody actually asks
What does it cost?
Real numbers from homes that publish them — weekly and monthly rent, deposits, and what you need in hand on day one.
What sober living actually costs in Kansas City →Will they take me on Suboxone?
MAT policies are different at every house. Here's how they vary, which KC homes state theirs out loud, and what to ask before you call.
MAT and sober living: Suboxone, methadone, and house rules →How do I actually get in?
Oxford Houses vote. Operator-run homes take applications. Both usually want some clean time first. Here's how each path works.
How to get into a sober living home in KC →The directory
The Kansas City metro directory lists the operators and homes we could identify from public sources in November 2026 — accredited homes, private and nonprofit houses, and the Oxford House network — organized by area, with who they serve and how to reach them. Where a source stated a fact, we say it. Where nobody publishes it, we say "call to confirm" instead of guessing.
What this is — and what it isn't
What this is: an independent directory and guide, built from public sources — the Missouri accredited-homes list (MCRSP), operators' own websites, and community postings. It's one person's attempt to put honest, checkable information in one place.
What this isn't: SoberInKC is not a treatment center, not a sober living home, and not a placement service. We don't take residents, we don't sell beds, and nobody here can promise you a bed, a price, or an outcome. Listings are informational. Homes change their prices, rules, and availability — sometimes fast — so always call the home and confirm before you count on anything you read here.

Why this exists
The big national directories that rank for "sober living Kansas City" publish numbers nobody can check — one of them claims "290 verified homes" and "62+ homes" on the same page, and tags Kansas City houses with "beach" amenities. Another lists a home as open at two different addresses while a third site reports it closed. Families in a crisis deserve better than that. Every listing here is tied to something a real source actually said, and every page shows when it was last checked.
